Kiowa tribal member sentenced for bribery

FRIDAY, APRIL 11, 2003

Phillip Charles Bread, a member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma, was sentenced to a year and a day in federal prison and ordered to pay $2,000 on a bribery charge.

Bread pleaded guilty to using his position as a state official to obtain consulting work on behalf of tribes. He accepted $6,250 in consulting fees.
