To the surviving Piestewa family, our prayers and hearts are with you. Lori was a true patriot and a true role model for younger Native Americans across the nation. The whole town I live in is in mourning as strangers talk in "Awe" about the tragedy. Those words are true that, "she will never be forgotten." May God bless you in this trying time and know that there is no suffering for her any more. The Manuelito's

A Brave Heart and a Warrior is what I perceive that the person Lori was and Spirit is. Seems she lived life to the best of her ability and served in the Army with the same strengths. She did not die in vain as she died for freedom and hopefully she will serve as a role model for our children not only as a military person but one who was brave no matter what. May the Great Spirit bless and keep her and my condolences to her family. Words cannot say what is truly in our hearts. George Buffalo

She examplifies the term "Warrior" with her spirit, dedication and loyalty. What a role model for people of all nations! She makes me proud to be Native American. Lori, you brought great pride to the Native Americans. You will forever be remembered as a True Warrior. Scottsdale, AZ 85258 True Warrior of the Native People Knowing she's still in our hearts makes us more confident that she is still fighting for us. In my heart I see her standing there all ready for battle. I know she's still with her family and relatives excpecially her two kids. I'am a sixteen year old girl. I am just writting to you to show how much i care for our people. I will always know she is with her family watching over them and she's with her fellow army friends. She will never give up untill she has won. When i first h eard about PFC Lori A. Piestewa my heart dropped knowing she was the first Native American to get her life stolen away from her. She held her head high and went in there for a victory. I just want to send my prayers out to the family and friends of hers. She was a hero and so is her family for letting her join the army for our country. With love and respect to all who knew her. My prayers are with you. Sincerely, ~a native girl~ Page 1 | Page 2
