Condolences to Family of Lori Piestewa
My heart is full of sympathy and respect for the family of Lori, who sacrificed her life to bring freedom to those who have never known it. You are in my thoughts as I praise God for the life and courage of Lori. May her spirit enjoy freedom and peace beyond all that can be experienced in this life. And may you be comforted.

Sincerely,

Lori Ann
As a fellow soldier and Vietnam survivor, my heart goes to you and I talk to the Great Creator that he may comfort you and the children have no fear in their small hearts. I wish you all well and remember that you shall sometime see her again and then you can tell the stories of long ago. Peace to your hearts.

Our Sister
My deepest condolences to your family for the loss of our sister, Lori. My heart grieves for her, her children and the people she has touched. I look to her as a fallen warrior who died in what she believed in and that her effort to protect her beliefs will not be in vain. She will be remember by the Native community and we will honor her by remembering who she was and what she stood for.

Sorrow for Lori
I am a wife of a retired Army First Sergeant, I have watched many different women serving our country in many capacities. I believe women must retain the right to serve, combat or not - if it is their choice (it doesn't matter if it's a son or daughter who dies - it's all very hard). I know Lori's family is very proud of her as well they should be - I never knew her but, she has a special place in my heart and always will. I don't know alot about the Hopis, but I know Lori will be able to rest in peace knowing her children will be well taken care - that's all a mother really cares about. My family sends our deepest sympathies to the Piestewa family and the rest of the Hopi tribe.

A Fearless Warrior
My Name is Esther Huesties, I have been following her story since I seen it on an email that I had received last week. it has been bothering since I had a baby last summer and I know what it is like to almost lose her! and I am truly sorry of her passing! I have been sending emails out here to our tribal members here and have been praying for her and your family and when I found out she had been found it was a relief but at the same time I was crying because in a way I felt that I had knew her. I am truly sorry and you will be in my families prayers and thoughts! Take care of each other and do not ever feel alone! God Bless and thank you for bringing into the world a fearless warrior to keep our country safe!

Sincerely

A Lady Warrior
Lori was an inspiration to all of us. She will go down in history as a lady warrior. May the spirits of the mountains and landscapes heal her family. May she rest in peace.

From the Wichita Tribe
I wanted to send my condolences to the family of Lori Piestewa. The Wichita tribe had a small dance and all the thoughts and prayers were for Lori Piestewa and her family. It saddened our hearts that such a young Indian woman had to be the first fallen female in the war in Iraq.

Stay Strong
Dear Lori's family,

I just wanted to say that my thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow. I am truly sorry for your loss, and I know that her spirit will always be with you. Stay strong and be proud of your family. Take care and God Bless you all. Rachel Ellenwood, Nez Perce

To Lori's Family
I do not know if there are any words that can comfort you. My heart fell when I heard about the loss of Lori. We do not know what the creator has in store for us, we only know that we look to him for guidance now. I can only say that we ask the creator to watch over her family, parents and children. I have lived on the Nez Perce Reservation most of my life. My father was a POW in World War II, and a survivor of the Bataan Death March. He and my uncle went into service at the same time, but my uncle did not survive the march. My dad was a prisoner in Japan for 4 years. I am so very proud of my dad and all the veterans and mostly for those that made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. Your daughter is truly beautiful and will truly be missed by all Native Americans, as she is just like family to us. I pray for your comfort at this time.

Sylvia Mitchell, Nez Perce Tribe.

Stay Strong
Our Prayers are with you in this time of loss. May you all have the strength to continue in this life until time to cross over. Special prayers for the little ones left behind. May they always have a strong sense of who their mother was, by the good words spoken in her memory.
