S.D. Supreme Court to rehear tribal gas tax case

FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 2003 The South Dakota Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to rehear a gasoline tax case affecting tribal members. The court will consider whether it can limit refunds owed to tribal members for a sales tax illegally paid. The state says it is too complicated to make the refunds without further guidance. The court's February decision held that the state cannot impose the tax on sales made to tribal members on reservations. Get the Story:
