Study shows Calif. casinos treat workers well

MONDAY, MARCH 31, 2003 A study by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas shows that California tribes treat their employees better than tribes in other states. According to the 2002 Indian Gaming Wage Survey, California casinos paid better salaries and had better benefits. Of 110 categories, salaries were higher in 83 categories. The study was conducted by the UNLV Hospitality Research and Development Center. It looked at 59 tribal casinos in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Michigan, Minnesota and on the East Coast.
