A vigil was held on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona on Wednesday for Lori Piestewa, a Hopi woman who is considered missing in action in Iraq.

Piestewa, 22, has been unaccounted for since Sunday. Other members of her unit, out of Fort Bliss in Texas, have been captured, killed and reported missing.

Friends and family of the missing say they aren't getting much information from the military. Piestewa's family has said she is "tough" and are holding out hope that she is still alive.

"She was very outspoken and outgoing, and she wanted to bring our tribes together. And that's happening now," Myra Draper, a family friend, told The Washington Post. Piestewa is from the Hopi village of Lower Moencopi. She attended high school in Tuba City on the Navajo Reservation.

Piestewa's family asks that people pray every day at 6 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.
