MONDAY, MARCH 24, 2003 "Knowing what I know now, it's obvious to me that no real cowboy would ever condone the recent antics of the Montana Department of Livestock, the National Park Service and Gov. Judy Martz. This happy band of reason-rustlers continues to display a marked lack of smarts by capturing and slaughtering hundreds more buffalo from Yellowstone Park's northern herd. That kind of stupidity does not foster the genetic viability of the herd.Knowing what I know now, any real cowboy would be furious at having his/her tax dollars spent so foolishly. And there are obviously no "real" cowboys seated in the Montana Legislature, which is considering reinstating Montana's disastrously ignorant policy of the buffalo "hunt" to eliminate the "threat" of brucellosis. Most traditional Indians believe that whatever happens to the buffalo, happens to the People. War has been waged against them. More accurately, it's genocide." Get the Story:
