School board to hold public vote on Chieftains

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12, 2003 The Osseo-Fairchild school board in Wisconsin will hold an advisory referendum on the Chieftains logo and mascot. Voters will be asked to consider three issues: whether to change the nickname mascot and logo; reinstate the Chief logo or come to a compromise. Last July, school board members agreed to remove the logo but keep the nickname. Voters recalled those members who supported the changes and replaced them with a set more sympathetic to the Chieftains. Get the Story:
