Wash. court upholds Indian mascot ban

TUESDAY, MARCH 11, 2003 A court in Washington dismissed an attempt to overturn a mascot ban at public schools in Seattle. An alumni association took the Seattle Public Schools to court to overturn the policy. But the judge rejected arguments that it violates the constitution. The policy bans the use of Indian as mascots or nicknames. Get the Story:
