Navajo Nation's Peabody lawsuit to continue

FRIDAY, MARCH 7, 2003 The Navajo Nation has not lost hope on a conspiracy lawsuit it has filed against the world's largest coal company. The contentious case is being fought in federal court in Washington, D.C., at the same time the tribe was pursuing its breach of trust claim against the federal government. Both cases allege Peabody Energy and the Department of Interior colluded to deny the tribe a high royalty rate for a coal lease, costing the tribe at least $600 million. Get the Story:
