FRIDAY, MARCH 7, 2003 Several residents of the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota have accused a hospital of racial discrimination. The residents say they were treated poorly during a visit to a patient last week. The wife of the patient said she was not allowed to be in the hospital room and staffers forced her and others to a waiting room. After the wife and another woman, both of whom work in health care, questioned the treatment, they say hospital staff called the police. A tribal council member and a school official who also showed up to visit the patient, say they were treated the same way. The hospital, Fall River Hospital, says it investigated the incident and found no wrongdoing. Get the Story:
