The Blackfeet Nation of Montana met with the Bureau of Indian Affairs on Wednesday in hopes of resolving a dispute over law enforcement on the reservation.

The BIA took over the tribe's police department over the weekend, citing numerous problems. The council was refusing to allow the new police officers to enforce tribal law but The Great Falls Tribune reports a change in position.

Tribal members and a reporter for the paper weren't allowed to hear the talks.
