Zuni Pueblo of New Mexico has submitted a report to the Department of Interior detailing potential damage to a sacred lake.

The department has given approval for a mine to be built near Zuni Salt Lake, which is used by the Pueblo and others in the Southwest for religious purposes. The tribe believes the development will hurt the water supply.
