TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2003

A dean for the Navajo Nation's Dine College was fired for not being a "team player," The Farmington Daily Times reports.

Bernice Casaus was the dean of the college's New Mexico campuses. According to a February 7 letter cited by the paper, she was told that she "regularly demonstrated disregard for the authority of the president of Dine College ... you have also made direct attempts to undermine decisions made by the president."

Thomas Bennett, who was Casaus' predecessor, is now acting dean.
