Ore. tribe to make Lewis and Clark pouches

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2003 The Confederated Umatilla Tribes of Oregon will make 1,500 pouches for the Lewis & Clark Bicentennial Commemorative Coin. The pouches will be made with deer buckskin, cowrie shells and beads. The U.S. Mint has commissioned several tribes to pouches in their own styles. Get the Story:
