Opponents to Shinnecock proposal get organized

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2003 Residents in the Hamptons of Long Island are mobilizing to oppose a possible casino on the Shinnecock Reservation in New York. Tribal members voted last year to negotiate a deal with a casino developer. Opponents say a casino would damage the area. The tribe is state recognized and is first on the list to be considered for federal recognition. Get the Story:
