FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2003

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, criticized for its "Chief Illiniwek" mascot, has a new Native American House.

The house will serve Native students who attend the school, of which there are about 58. It will also try to increase Native American enrollment and faculty, which officials acknowledge is difficult due to the school's mascot and name.
