TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2003

The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals has scheduled oral arguments in the Cobell trust fund case.

The April 24 hearing will address the recent contempt citations laid against Secretary of Interior Gale Norton and former assistant secretary Neal McCaleb, who retired in December. The Bush administration says the charges are unwarranted.

The appeals court will hear the appeal and the plaintiff's motion to dismiss it. A briefing schedule was defined two weeks ago.
