Report: Mohegan Tribe to own WNBA team

THURSDAY, JANUARY 16, 2003 The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut will own a professional women's basketball team, The Hartford Courant reports. The WNBA team would be called The Mohegan Suns and play at the tribe's arena for most of the season, the paper said. Tribal Chairman Mark Brown was optimistic that the deal, rumored to be in the millions, would be finalized. Get the Story:
