A proposal by the Upper Lake Pomo Tribe of California has drawn some high-powered opposition.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Gov. Gray Davis (D) are among those who oppose the tribe's plans to turn 67 acres in West Sacramento into a casino. They say federal approval of the deal will establish a precedent for urban Indian gaming.

The tribe has high-powered support of its own. Its backers have spent $160,000 on lobbyists, The Los Angeles Times reports.
