Fightin' Whites team raises $100 000

MONDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2002 An intramural team whose name draws attention to the use of Indian as mascots has raised $100,000 in scholarship funds for Native students. The Fightin' Whites team at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley said it sold more than 15,000 t-shirts through its website. The merchandise features a caricature of a "white" man in protest of the Fighting Reds mascot at a local high school. Get the Story:
