Dolly lends a book to Indian Country

MONDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2002 Country music superstar Dolly Parton has partnered with the Bureau of Indian Affairs to distribute books to Indian children. Through the Dollywood Foundation, Parton will give one book a month to preschoolers in 92 BIA schools. The partnership was announced along with Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb on Friday at Dollywood in Tennessee. Also appearing was the Cherokee Nation children's choir. They surprised Parton with a Cherokee version of her hit "9 to 5." Get the Story:
