THURSDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2002 Legislation is being proposed in Anchorage, Alaska, to apologize to the widow of an Alaska Native man who was killed in a domestic violence-related dispute. The city of Anchorage was criticized in a report by the state Office of Victims' Rights. The report said the city violated the rights of Patti Godfrey, who waited 48 minutes for police to arrive at her home the night her husband was fatally shot and she was wounded. Prior to his death, Glenn Godfrey was the highest ranking Alaska Native in law enforcement. Get the Story:
