Editorial: Let Navajos speak Navajo!

An Arizona business that forbade Navajo tribal members from speaking their own language went too far, The Denver Post says in an editorial.

Rather than ban the use of Navajo, the paper says R.D.'s Drive-In should have fired workers who were creating a hostile environment. "Employees who make rude, harassing remarks to other workers or customers should be dealt with immediately," the paper writes. "If the claims are proven, they should be disciplined or dismissed."

Instead, the drive-in is facing a discrimination suit filed through the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
