The chairman of the Kiowa Nation of Oklahoma says his life has been threatened over his tribe's gaming operations.

Clifford McKenzie says the threats began after he took office in June. He believes his political rivals are stirring up trouble.

The tribe is going through some internal turmoil over its leadership. McKenzie and Bill Tsoodle, a council member, are at odds over several issues but are united on opposing a casino contract with a Chicago-based firm called the Casino Development Group.
