NASA won't allow tobacco in space

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2002 NASA has vetoed Chickasaw Nation astronaut John Herrington's use of ceremonial Indian tobacco aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour, The Times of London reports. The paper says Herrington will still carry a host of other items when he blasts off tonight, if all goes well. No word on whether NASA will let him burn the sweet grass he is apparently taking into space. Get the Story:
