A student group at the University of North Dakota is holding a forum on mascots next week.

B.R.I.D.G.E.S. (Building Roads Into Diverse Groups Empowering Students) is bringing American Indian Movement activist Vernon Bellecourt to get the message across that Indians aren't mascots, symbols or other themes. The forum will take place on Monday.

UND's nickname is the "Fighting Sioux." Area tribes oppose the moniker.
