Pelosi to lead Democrats in House

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2002 Representative Nancy Pelosi of California was elected the House Democratic leader on Thursday. Pelosi is the first female to lead any party in Congress. She replaces Rep. Dick Gephardt (D-Mo.), who stepped down after the Democrats' historic loss in last week's election. Get the Story:
