A member of the Oneida Nation who challenged the tribe's policies will have her trailer home torn down as part a plea agreement in tribal court.

Danielle Patterson pleaded guilty to refusing to allow her home to be inspected under a "beautification" program instituted by nation representative Ray Halbritter. In exchange, an assault charge was dropped.

"She had no choice," said lawyer told The Syracuse Post-Standard. "When you hold a gun to somebody's head and say, 'I'm the boss,' what are they going to say?"

Patterson had been jailed by the tribe for refusing to appear in court. She was placed in a facility 325 miles away from the Oneida reservation in upstate New York.
