Viejas chairman charged with murder

MONDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2002 Authorities in California will charge the chairman of the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians and his nephew with murder and attmpted, according to news accounts. Steven Francis TeSam, 42, and nephew Hank Carl Banegas, 26, are accused of stabbing Faitamai Taunuu, 30, to death. A minor also was implicated, according to the Associated Press. Taunuu died during a concert for the rap star Nelly. TeSam and Banegas were being held without bail. Get the Story:
