"More and more" counties are uncovering voter fraud among Indian residents in South Dakota, a columnist for The Wall Street Journal writes today.

John H. Fund ties the alleged fraud to the Democrat Party. He says the party has made an effort to register more Indian voters, encourage absentee votes and hire Native Americans.

"Voter fraud isn't unknown on reservations," he writes, saying that picnics held on election day on the Pine Ridge Reservation are illegal.

The investigation has drawn interest because of the tight Senate race between incumbent Tim Johnson (D) and Congressman John Thune (R). Both parties believe the race is key to tipping chamber in their favor.
