N.M. candidate reports gaming donations

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2002 New Mexico gubernatorial candidate Bill Richardson, a Democrat, has reported at least $50,000 in contributions from tribal and other gaming sources. According to The Albuquerque Journal, Sandia Pueblo contributed $40,000 to the campaign. The tribe owns a successful casino near Albuquerque. R.D. Hubbard Enterprises Inc., a racetrack interest, contributed $10,000. Richardson has raised a total of $7 million, according to the paper, nearly three times the amount raised by Republican opponent John Sanchez. Get the Story:
