Ponca Tribe wants land taken into trust

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2002 The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is waiting for the Bureau of Indian Affairs to take land into trust. The tribe wants to use a former bar and grill as a bingo hall. The Omaha World-Herald does not report the acreage involved. The Ponca Tribe was restored federal status after being terminated. Its tribal headquarters is in Niobrara. Get the Story:
