WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2002

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission on Tuesday ruled against a group of Skull Valley Goshute tribal members who oppose plans to store up to 44,000 tons of nuclear waste on their Utah reservation.

Margene Bullcreek and others don't support their chairman, Leon Bear, who signed a contract to store waste on tribal land. The NRC refused to get involved and said it was an internal matter.
