Navajo Nation voters are questioning the presidential ticket of Joe Shirley and Frank Dayish.

Shirley said he wants to resolve the tribe's claims against Peabody Coal, which has mined Navajo lands. Members of a Navajo group called Dine Bidziil (Navajo strength) Nationalists said settlements talks are premature due to outstanding water rights issues.

The group also questions Dayish's ties to the mining industry. Dayish is a lobbyist for BHP Billiton, a multinational company that owns mines in the Four Corners region of the Navajo Nation.
