Seneca Nation breaks ground on casino

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2002 The Seneca Nation of New York began work on Wednesday for a temporary casino. Located in Niagara Falls, the construction portion of the project promises to employ 1,400. The casino itself, when completed, is expected to employ 2,000. The tribe's Class III compact with the state ensures unions will be represented. The casino still still has to be taken into trust by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Get the Story:
