THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2002

The Golden Hill Paugussett Tribe of Connecticut is threatening to make claims to thousands of acres of land unless it can get a casino.

The tribe is recognized by the state but not by the federal government. The Bureau of Indian Affairs has rejected the tribe three times.

The decision is under reconsideration. A final ruling is expected by the end of the year.
