McCaleb meeting with tribes criticized

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2002 Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal is criticizing Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb for holding a meeting with two Pequot tribes. McCaleb met with officials of the Eastern Pequot Tribe and the Paucatuck Eastern Pequot Tribe last month. He recognized them as the historic Eastern Pequot Tribe. Blumenthal said the meeting was inappropriate and wants one of his own. Get the Story:
