Calif. tribe sues over water transfer

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2002 A California tribe and two environmental groups are suing the Department of Interior to prevent a transfer of water. The Cabazon Band of Mission Indians and the groups are worried the transfer of 300,000 acre feet per year will hurt the ailing Salton Sea. California wants to use the water to reduce dependency on the Colorado River. Get the Story:
