Ariz. tribal school board focus of recall

THURSDAY, AUGUST 29, 2002 All five members of a school board on the Tohono O'odham Reservation in Oklahoma are the target of a recall petition initiated by a tribal lawmaker. The petition, which is in the process of being verified, charges the board members with financial irresponsibility and being unresponsive to teachers. The board members say misinformation has been spread about them. If the petition is found valid, an election to replace the board members will be held March 11. Get the Story:
