Seneca Nation outlines casino plans

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21, 2002 The Seneca Nation of New York has an ambitious schedule to open the first of three casinos as part of a gaming compact signed with the state. A temporary casino will be erected at an existing convention center in Niagara Falls with the goal of opening by January 1. The 50-acre area will be taken into trust. The second part will be a brand new casino. There is no time-frame for this part of the project. The compact authorizes two off-reservation casinos and one on reservation. Get the Story:
