Surplus homes destined for reservations

FRIDAY, AUGUST 16, 2002 Surplus homes from an Air Force base are being sent to several tribes to alleviate housing concerns. Operation Walking Shield, a non-profit organization, will move 258 homes from Malmstrom Air Force Base. The Chippewa-Cree Tribe of Montana; the Spirit Lake and Turtle Mountain tribes of North Dakota and the White Earth and Red Lake tribes in Minnesota will receive the surplus housing. Get the Story:
