Nev. tribe to build business center

FRIDAY, AUGUST 16, 2002 The Ely Shoshone Tribe is using $1.3 million in federal grants to build a 6,200-square-foot business and travel center. The tribe obtained a $550,000 Indian Community Development Block Grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. A $750,000 economic development grant came from the Department of Commerce. The center will include a convenience store, smoke shop, gas station, Laundromat, showers, deli and apparel business.
