FRIDAY, AUGUST 16, 2002

The 17 tribes of the Arizona Indian Gaming Association have launched a television ad campaign to convince voters to approve their casino ballot initiative.

Proposition 202, or Arizonans for Fair Gaming and Indian Self-Reliance, seeks to continue gaming on reservations. The initiative closely mimics compacts that the tribes signed with Ariz. Gov. Jane Hull but were rejected by state lawmakers.
