Israel: Catskills casino delayed

TUESDAY, JULY 30, 2002 The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe won't open its casino in the Catskills region of New York until 2005 at the earlier, Steve Israel reports today. In his "Casino Confidential" column, Israel says a lawsuit is delaying this year's groundbreaking. The suit claims a state law which authorized six tribal casinos is invalid. The tribe has partnered with Park Place Entertainment on the casino. Get the Story:
