Test scores show racial disparity

Alaska Native students are scoring higher on state reading, writing and math tests but large disparities remain.

Of eighth-graders, 20 percent passed the math exam, compared with 50 percent of white students. Of sixth-graders, 43 passed the reading test, compared to 82 percent of whites.
