TUESDAY, JULY 23, 2002 The Senate Judiciary Committee today is holding a hearing for Priscilla Owen, President Bush's pick for the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. Owen is coming under fire from liberal groups who question her views on abortion. As a Texas Supreme Court judge, she has opposed the right of teenage girls to abortion without parental consent. The Committee for Justice, a GOP group, has launched a campaign to bolster support for Bush's judicial nominees.
