A Democratic hopeful for Nebraska attorney general is suggesting the Oglala Lakota Tribe have jurisdiction over the border town of Whiteclay.

Whiteclay is home to liquor establishments that cater largely to Indian consumers. Mike Meister says why not give the tribe power to enforce liquor laws.

The tribe is based in South Dakota but has trust land in Nebraska. Whiteclay, however, is state land.
