Army officer expelled after Mont. battle

WEDNESDAY, JULY 3, 2002 Army forces expecting to defeat Plains Indian tribes in 1876 found out right away how wrong they were. An Army official who lost at battle near the Powder River in Montana also lost his job. Cheyenne and Sioux warriors defeated the outnumbered U.S. Calvary on March 16, 1876, a prelude to the later massacre at Little Bighorn. Get the Story:
