"The comments of each of the 2nd District's elected federal officials regarding the recent BIA recognition of an Indian tribe in North Stonington would be laughable if the potential consequences to the region were not so dire.

To a man, Democratic Sens. Christopher Dodd (“displeased”) and Joseph Lieberman (“troubled”), and U.S. Rep. Rob Simmons (“surprised”) criticized the decision stating that the recognition process is deeply flawed and in need of substantial overhaul. Duh. That is precisely what thousands of constituents have been screaming about to these officials for several years. . ."
